New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially opened the online admission process for the B.Ed programme for the 2026 academic session. Interested candidates can submit their application forms from 29 January 2026 through the official SAMARTH portal. The last date for registration is 27 February 2026.
Admission to the IGNOU B.Ed programme will be granted only through an entrance examination, the schedule of which will be announced separately by the university.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for IGNOU B.Ed Admission 2026 must fulfil the following conditions:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, or Humanities with at least 50% marks,

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with 55% marks, with specialisation in Science or Mathematics.

Candidates must be trained in-service teachers in elementary education,

Age Limit:
There is no upper age limit for applying.
Relaxation:
A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwD, and EWS candidates as per government norms.
